Stage 1 Foundations - Lessons 1 to 8

Stage 1 Foundations is the first learning pathway within The Gobo Method. Across eight progressive lessons, learners build grammar, vocabulary, sentence structure and communication skills through a connected combination of lessons, listening, reading, interactive activities, games and storytelling.

Each lesson builds naturally on the last, giving teachers a structured pathway while allowing learners to develop confidence one step at a time.

🌳 How the Forest Paths Work

Stage 1 Foundations is organised into four connected Forest Paths, each containing two lessons. As learners progress, language introduced in earlier lessons is revisited and developed through new contexts, activities and stories.

The journey begins with the Acorn Path and progresses through the forest:

🌰 Acorn Path β€” Lessons 1 & 2
πŸŒ‰ Bridge Plank Path β€” Lessons 3 & 4
πŸ„ Mushroom Path β€” Lessons 5 & 6
πŸͺΆ Feather Path β€” Lessons 7 & 8

🌳 Interactive Activity Boards

Each lesson in Stage 1 Foundations is supported by an interactive activity board, giving learners opportunities to practise and use the English they are developing.

Activities include sentence building, vocabulary work, listening and reading responses, language challenges and creative storytelling. As learners progress, the boards develop with them β€” from guided grammar practice towards comprehension and independent creative language use.

Explore the Interactive Activities page to discover how the boards work and how they can be used with your learners.
